HOLISTIC PRACTICE
PHILOSOPHY
The term 'holistic' comes from the Greek work 'holos' meaning whole and the holistic approach to Reflexology, Aromatherapy and Massage aims to restore balance within the body, taking into account the person's whole self and not just their physical symptoms or ailments.

Holistic therapies not only support our healing physically, psychologically and emotionally, they also give us the space to help us deal with life's tough times.
"When you touch one thing with deep awareness,
you touch everything."

ABOUT ME
I originally trained with Essentials for Health at St Thomas' Hospital in London in 2009, qualifying in both the ITEC Level 3 Diploma and BTEC Level 4 Professional Diploma in Holistic Massage Therapy. After that I was hooked and continued to develop my skills further, completing diplomas in Reflexology and Aromatherapy and courses in Advanced Clinical Massage, Indian Head Massage, Deep Tissue, Thai Reflexology and Advanced Spinal Reflexology. I have also completed a diploma in Advanced Facial Reflexology and find this to be hugely beneficial for many people with acute anxiety.
I was drawn into holistic therapies after struggling with my own health and more recently that of my daughter's and I saw just how much of an effect reflexology in particular had in supporting people through their own health journeys. My passion for reflexology is at the root of all my treatments and I use that passion to help and support others.
I have worked and continue to work with Dimbleby Cancer Care at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust as a Complementary Therapy Specialist in cancer care and have worked at Pilgrims Hospice and I still find reflexology to be one of the most beneficial treatments for patients.
As an aromatherapist too, I love using essential oils in treatments to help deepen the effects and to help towards changing people's health and wellbeing for the better. Stress and anxiety can cause so many health issues and so, together with other like minded practitioners and therapists, we can be just a little part of that support and understanding that people really need.

REFLEXOLOGY
AROMATHERAPY
Reflexology is a complementary and holistic therapy which aims to restore balance to a person's body and mind by stimulating its own healing process. It is deeply relaxing and can therefore help to reduce stress, one of the biggest causes of ill health.

Reflexology feels like a foot massage. Gentle or firm pressures are applied to reflex points on the feet and/or hands and these points correspond to different areas of the body including the organs and glands.
There are different theories on how reflexology works, from the neurological relationship between the skin and internal organs, to the neuromatrix theory of reducing pain by reducing stress and improving mood, through to unblocking energy pathways allowing energy to move more freely and as much as I personally love the 'how', it becomes less important when appreciating that all these approaches ultimately create an emotional and physical shift, allowing your body to restore balance, letting you feel more like you again.

Aromatherapy is a complementary and holistic therapy using essential oils to improve our health and wellbeing. Essential oils are extracted from different parts of plants, including their root, bark, flowers, fruit, seeds and leaves and each hold distinctive properties which influence the systems in the body, naturally creating physical, mental and emotional changes.

Essential oils can be absorbed into the skin through massage (always diluted with a carrier oil) and they can also stimulate the olfactory system (your sense of smell) through inhalation, which sends signals to parts of the brain responsible for controlling functions such as breathing, heart rate, blood pressure, memory, stress levels and hormone balance.

Although the term aromatherapy is fairly new, plants have been used for thousands of years for their beneficial properties and there is now growing research in their ability to improve our physiological and psychological wellbeing.
